I'm Sean Parnell and I live in Hickory North Carolina with my wife, three children, four dogs and a cat. I have been working as a fine artist and freelance illustrator for fifteen years. Attending the East Carolina School of Art I graduated in 1994, with a concentration in painting and drawing.

As an artist I work mostly with watercolor, acrylic and graphite, although I have been known to do some mean collage work too. I have also worked in the digital medium, however I find it frustratingly tedious as I like to work fast. My work spans several styles, contemporary, wildlife, landscapes and fantasy. I tend to do whatever strikes my fancy at the moment, and no matter what it is I am working on, I belive that all of my work can be seen as coming from the same hand.

Since 1995 I have worked as an art teacher in Hickory, NC. My work has been shown in regional galleries large and small, I have also gained a reputaion as a portrait artist.

My freelance credits include, illustration for game companies Mongoose Publishing, Galileo Games. Designing brochures, logos and posters for the Raleigh and Hickory Symphonies. Creating mailers for North Carolina Representative Alice Underhill. I have also worked as an illustrator and cartoonist with many local papers, periodicals and organizations, including the North Carolina DPI.
